Life has this funny habit of doing its own thing, doesn’t it? I’ve learned (sometimes the hard way!) that even our best-laid plans can be swept aside because the universe has a different timeline in mind.
Take when I wanted to focus on career progression… and then found out I was pregnant. That experience taught me that there’s never a perfect time — just the right time.
From Disney Dreams to a Global Pause
Back in January 2020, I decided I needed a creative outlet. I’d spent years soaking up everything there was to know about my favourite place on earth — Walt Disney World — and I thought, why not share it?
So I bought a camera. Practised filming. Planned vlogs. And got myself ready to document our magical May 2020 trip.
Then…
Well, the entire world shut down.
My new travel channel never even got off the runway (pun fully intended). And by the time we finally made it back to Disney in 2022, the internet was overflowing with vloggers — and honestly, even I wasn’t watching them anymore. But hey… at least I still have a very nice camera!
A New Creative Chapter… and Another Plot Twist

Earlier this year, as my children left school and I found myself in a new stage of life, I felt that creative itch again. So this blog became my next adventure — a little space just for me, somewhere to write, reflect, and hopefully connect with others going through similar transitions.
What held me back wasn’t ideas… it was the tech. Websites, socials — not my strong point. But I’ve been learning, slowly but surely, and it’s starting to come together.
Then came another curveball.
I got bitten by a spider.
Yes, really.
And it turned into a nasty infection that could have (no exaggeration) led to a life-changing outcome.
I ended up in hospital having a sizeable chunk of my thigh removed to stop the infection from turning septic.
Seven weeks of recovery followed — lots of rest, a whole reset on nutrition, gentle movement, and healing. I’ll be honest: I didn’t have the energy to write, even though I suddenly had the time. But my focus had to be getting better — I had a Disney holiday to save!
Back on My Feet… and Straight Into My Biggest Career Milestone

Just as I started feeling like myself again, it was time for something that has been in motion since 2006 — my journey toward becoming a Chartered Engineer.
Between raising my boys, a 16-year career break, and years of preparation, this review meant the world to me. I’ve now completed the Professional Review (a huge relief!), and I’m waiting for the result.
I honestly don’t know how I’ll handle it if I’m rejected, but I’ll cross that bridge if I come to it.
For now, the hard part is done.
So… What Now?
Now, I’m finally in a place where I can breathe again. Where I can enjoy life. And where I can put more time and love into this little corner of the internet.
And in just one week, I’ll be on a plane to Florida for nearly three weeks of festive fun with my family.
I’ll be updating my socials daily, soaking up the magic — and once I’m back, I’ll be sharing Disney tips, planning advice, hotel reviews, and everything in between.
I’m excited to reconnect with you all.
I’m excited to write again.
And I’m excited for what’s coming next.
Until next time…
Live your one life, and live it well.
